How can we insert in a tabs slider component tab, customs options, or configurable options of a product ?

Thanks

To be more accurate, I'd like to have this display and behavior for options : http://www.seawiser.com/home/seawiser-a ... #tcontentP

Hi Fabricet,

I believe you need the form that changes the final price depending on the options selected.

Our Tabs Slider extension allows to create custom tabs for all products together or for selected ones. But when you create a tab you can add information via the WYSIWYG here - texts, tables, links, images, etc.

On your sample you will need a means to:
1. Create a form
2. Integrate the from with Magento's payment procedure so that the price is re-calculated

So you will need either to code this form manually, then code the integration, or to use a form building extension to create the form and integrate it.

On our demo site we have created a custom tab (contact us) that contains the form.

This form is created with another our extension - SmartFormer Gold.

In your case you can use both extensions to create the functionality and will need a bit of custom coding to make this form change the final price.

Thanks for your answer.
In fact, I already have the form system. The form use the native magento "custom options".

Theses options are displayed with the block Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_View_Options of the frontend/base/default/template/catalog/product/view/options.phtml file.

A great use of Tab slider, would be having "custom options" embedded in a tab. Because if we haven't this feature, when we have a long custom option list, then the slider tab is at the bottom of the page...

So my question is how could we input a magento block in a tab slider tab ?

Thanks !

Hello,
I tried this in a tab :
Code: Select all
{{block type="Mage_Catalog_Block_Product_View_Options" template="catalog/product/view/options.phtml"}}

But it only displays option titles, not dropdown box, radiobox...
Any ideas ?

There are 2 ways to add block to the tabs (if this block exists in Magenta):

The fisrt way

1.create a new tab using “Add Custom” button; you will see WYSIWYG; add there the following line:

Code: Select all
{{block type="core/text" text="My Block"}}

where type is a type of this block

N.B. not all blocks can be added in this way; it depends on the template of your Magento

The second way
2.add to the product page this block and then add this block as tab
a.Find file catalog.xml, which is used in the current theme
b.Find there the following node:
Code: Select all
<layout version="0.1.0">
     ...
     <catalog_product_view translate="label">
         ...
         <reference name="content">
             ...
             <block type="catalog/product_view" name="product.info" template="catalog/product/view.phtml" />

And add there the following node:
Code: Select all
<block type="catalog/product_view_additional" name="product.info.additional" as="product_additional_data" />

where catalog/product_view_additional is a type of the block; product_additional_data is alias of this block (please remember this value)
c.Save catalog.xml file
d.Open file catalog/product/view.pthml, which is used in the current theme
e.Find there the following line
Code: Select all
<div class="product-collateral">

And add into this line the following:
Code: Select all
<?php echo $this->getChildHtml('product_additional_data') ?>

where product_additional_data is alias which you remembered

f.Save this file
g.Open Tab Slider and add new tab using “Add New” button
h.Select there alias which you remembered and add Title
