We set up Smart Former on a website and love the application. The problem is if you press the tab key to go to the next entry field, it moves you up instead of down.

What do we need to do to make pressing the tab key send you to the next entry field?

We solved this problem on our advanced form builder SmartFormer Gold. There you can indicate tab order for each element. Please install free 7 days trial version, transfer your forms from SmartFormer to SmartFormer Gold using free plugin and manage tab order there.
